How do you begin?
We start with an assessment. We use a bio/psycho/social model. This means we factor in your biology and genetic factors, including your nutrition and exercise patterns. Next, we consider your inner thoughts and personality. Finally, we look at your social context, meaning the kinds of social support that are available to you, as well as your race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and spirituality. We follow a "diasthesis-stress model" which means that we believe that certain individuals have certain predispositions to developing certain illnesses (i.e. alcoholism and depression tend to run in families) and that when the "right" stressors come along, a person may develop a clinical disorder.
Your first session is an Assessment which lasts 60-75 minutes, and the fee is $120.
Subsequent sessions last 50-55 minutes, and the fee is $100 per session.
Group fees vary based upon the length of time the group meets.
We accept cash and checks. For those who have insurance, we can provide you with an insurance-ready receipt. Many of our clients are able to recover all or part of our fee, as we are licensed as Clinical Social Workers by the state of Texas. In addition, Ms. Hoffer is licensed in the state of New Jersey. You would use your "out of network" benefits.
Stacy has just joined the San Antonio Empoyers' Health Alliance (SAEHA) , which manages mental health benefits for CPS, J. Kindell Enterprises, SAS Shoemakers and VIA Metropolitan Transit. Stacy anticipates being credentialed with Texas True Choice and Cigna by 7/1/09.
For those clients who have no insurance or who have an extremely high annual deductible, we offer a sliding fee scale.
Whatever your financial situation, contact Stacy to discuss. Arrangments can be made so that sessions fit into your budget while also paying a fair fee.
We offer daytime and evening appointments, with some limited availability on the weekend.
Yes; where appropriate, we may make school visits or home visits.
We provide you with our business cellular telephone numbers, as listed on this website. You have a direct line to us, and while you may sometimes get our voicemail, you will never have to go through another person to reach us.
We are happy to work with you so that your appointments are scheduled at a convenient time for you. If you need to change an appointment, that is no problem but we do request that you give us at least 24 hours notice to do so. Appointments that you cancel within 24 hours of their scheduled time will result in a $100 late cancellation fee. We will review this policy with you during your first appointment with us.
If at any time during your care you feel that you are in a crisis, please go to your local crisis center or hospital emergency room, and call us from there. We are not equipped to provide 24/7 coverage to our clients, but we do want to know what is going on with you. With your permission, we will speak to the crisis/hospital staff to coordinate your care.
Everything you say to us is confidential, and is protected legally as such. We break confidentiality only if you are a danger to yourself or others. Otherwise, we will not even acknowledge that you are our client unless you give us written permission to do so.
